Frequently Asked Questions

Does my opener work with MyQ?

Most LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers made after 1993 (with a yellow Learn button) are MyQ compatible with the Smart Garage Hub accessory. Newer openers (2011+) with a purple or orange Learn button may be directly Wi-Fi capable. We'll assess your opener when we arrive.

How do I add MyQ to my existing LiftMaster opener?

You need the MyQ Smart Garage Hub (available from us for installation). It mounts near your opener, connects to your Wi-Fi, and adds a door sensor. The whole setup takes about 45 minutes.

My MyQ worked fine and then stopped after I got a new router — how do I fix it?

The hub needs to re-pair to your new Wi-Fi network. Download the MyQ app, go to Device Settings, and use the Re-Configure Wi-Fi option. If you can't get it working, we'll come out and handle it.

Can MyQ integrate with Amazon package delivery?

Yes — Amazon Key for Garage allows Amazon delivery drivers to open your door for secure package delivery. This requires a compatible MyQ opener and enrollment through the Amazon app. We can set this up during our visit.

Will MyQ work with my 5GHz Wi-Fi?

No — MyQ devices only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Make sure you're connecting to your 2.4 GHz band (often with a separate SSID or accessible through your router settings).
